Hmmmm…Technology is the New Jewelry?

It seems that the holidays and birthdays that used to almost require jewelry as a gift have taken a twist to a new type of gift.

Sad to say, but the beautiful, one-of-a-kind pieces, the thoughtful presents that were once given to people to show that they are loved, have turned into a plethora of different technological choices.

Rather than shopping for something with meaning and symbolism, we have turned to something more “practical”. Something that he or she will “get use of every day”. No longer are women asking for a classy ring for their birthday, Christmas or even Mother’s Day. Today’s women are asking for laptops, or better yet, something that is more mobile, like a tablet or a smartphone.

People are overlooking the gargantuan diamond rings on women’s hands to “ooh” and “ahh” over the technology, as well. No longer do we hear questions about the ring on our finger, but we do hear, “Is that an iPhone 6?” Everyone seems to know exactly which gadgets are which today and everyone seems to have an admiration for each and every gadget out on the market.
