Etsy Designers & American Museum of Natural History Partnership
New York City’s American Museum of Natural History has partnered with Etsy designers on a collection featuring 140 pieces that were inspired by a mixture of the museum’s collections and nature. The collection of jewelry features paper products, leather goods and other objects of design that will be sold in the gift shop of the American Museum of Natural History, as well as its website.
The American Museum of Natural History hosted a private preview event at the end of February featuring the Etsy designers, who discussed their inspirations and techniques. Twenty-two Etsy designers made products that were inspired by natural elements in our world.
This marks the first time that Etsy.com has partnered with a museum to create products for consumers, however it is not the first collaboration that Etsy.com has teamed up to work on. Last Saturday, we talked about how Etsy.com is teaming up with retailers like Nordstrom and the Land of Nod to open up the wholesale market for individual crafters and sellers to the wholesale world.
For crafters and sellers who have been marketing their products on Etsy.com, these partnerships and collaborations that Etsy is making are paving the way to bigger and better opportunities. Which leads us to wonder: What will Etsy come up with next?
